We’ll be looking to you to assist the Leaders, Group Leaders and Head of Tax Planning and Advisory to respond to operational tax issues arising in the business, assist in tax diligence, structuring analysis, and implementation with respect to acquisitions, divestitures, and other transactions, and assist with responses to tax audits and controversies. You will perform tax research and drafting of tax technical memoranda, to include preparing, analyzing, and maintaining tax records and statistical and financial reports. You’ll assist in the identification, development, and implementation of strategic tax initiatives focused on the international arena with some domestic opportunities. You will assist in conducting tax-related due diligence reviews to identify tax issues, exposures, and opportunities relating to acquisition targets.

For such a detail-driven role, you’ll have 4-6 years of experience in U.S. Federal income tax planning with an emphasis on international and corporate tax matters. You will also have obtained your bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with significant coursework in tax, with an advance tax or law degree and CPA a plus. You will have excellent verbal and written communications skills, including proficiency in preparation and use of spreadsheet models for tax analysis and planning. You’ll be familiar with domestic and international tax analysis and planning for M&A transactions.

Annual base salary gross: $70,750 – $120,722. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the Western Union salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of Western Union’s total compensation package for employees.
