Overview

Under the general guidance of the Regional PSU Manager directs, supervises and coordinates PSU LSA/PSR staff performance, activities and functions to provide high quality patient care.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily activities of the LSA/PSR staff.
  • Responsible and accountable for determining the LSA/PSR staff preparing work schedules, and rearranging work schedules of the LSA/PSR staff to compensate for work load and personnel shortages.
  • Assists with personnel hiring, evaluating job performance, terminating, and counseling
  • Responsible for coordinating and ensuring that the staff receives proper orientation, continuing education classes and any additional appropriate training.
  • Assist the Regional PSU Manager in monitoring expenses and payroll for staff
  • Responsible for monitoring production of work for the LSA/PSR staff.
  • Maintains and strengthens the relationships with the PSU team and collaborates with Market PBM’s, Contracted Provider and Market Quality team.
  • Serves as the representative/liaison for the PSU team in the absence of the Regional PSU Manager.
  • Monitors Logistical paperwork coming into PSU and gives weekly updates to corporate on stats for paperwork turned into PSU.
  • Creates and Monitors Accuracy Corporate Reports
  • Runs Team Huddles
  • Responsible for oversight and updates to PSU Policies, Procedures, and Processses
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1+ years of healthcare experience with increasing responsibility
  • 1+ year of clinic operations or healthcare experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, basic Excel and basic PowerPoint.
  • This is an onsite office position in Houston, TX
  • This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor’s diagnosis of disease.
  • You will be provisioned with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are required to perform this role with patients and members on site, as this is an essential function of this role.
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of related experience in a clinic setting
  • Medical Assistant experience
  • Prior Practice Support Unit experience
  • Knowledge of organization policies and procedures and ability to apply principles to solve everyday problems in a variety of situations required
  • Knowledge of fiscal management and human resource management technique
  • Knowledge of office management techniques and practices
  • Skill in gathering, analyzing, and evaluating data
  • Skill in written and verbal communication
  • Ability to exercise initiative, problem solving, decision-making
  • Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities
  • Good communication and customer service skills
