POSITION SUMMARY:This position is responsible for the administration, execution, and integrity of the Foundations community and scholarship grants. It requires attention to detail, building and maintaining relationships, strong computer skills, ability to understand compliance nuances, and the capacity to navigate competing priorities. This is a position created to supportthe Foundation’s new strategic framework being launched in 2021.RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Grant Administration (70%)Process all Discretionary (responsive, directed, etc.), Programs, Scholarship, Technical Assistance, and Field of Interest grants, and ensure that grantee and grant information is maintained in appropriate systemsSupport the creation, maintenance and improvement of online grantmaking systems and back-end workflowsUtilize Laserfiche, GrantedEdge (GE), RaisersEdge (RE), and Spectrum for all grant processing while maintaining strong data integrity and following program techniques and proceduresMaintain well-documented procedures, while identifying opportunities for procedure efficiencies, and training staff membersWork closely with the Impact staff to support the timely and efficient processing of grantsProvide backup support for gift processing and Donor-Advised Fund grant processingProvide assistance to the overall Gifts and Grants team during peak and vacation timesRelationship Management (10%)Develop and maintain professional working relationships with the Foundations donors, scholars and granteesAssist with answering questions from nonprofit organizations, universities and fund advisors on grant transactionsSupport Gift and Grant team in providing excellent customer service across the FoundationReporting (10%)Process grant award notifications, contracts, agreements, and other related communicationsSupport and create foundation-wide and individual fund grant reportingCompliance (10%)Understand and communicate IRS scholarship requirements, including suggesting and implementing policy and procedure changes as requiredReview scholarship recommendations to ensure compliance with donor intent and legal requirementsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of two years relevant experience in general office support, preferably in the nonprofit sectorAbility to work with others in a team environmentComputer skills, Windows, MS Office Suite and ExcelData entry and data management experienceMaintain high level of confidentialityAbility to multi-task on a variety of job duties and activitiesDetail oriented and organizedResearch and problem solving skillsAbility to meet tight deadlinesCustomer service experienceAbility to build relationships with people of diverse backgrounds, perspectives and culturesAn unwavering commitment to racial equityBelief in the model of community foundationsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Background with non-profit organizations or philanthropyUnderstanding of the funder and foundation nonprofit relationshipUnderstanding of nonprofit fundraising methods and nonprofit acknowledgmentsExperience using GE, RE, FE, Laserfiche and Spectrum softwareWORK ENVIRONMENT: The position is based in an office environment with a mix of private offices and cubicles.
