Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) is seeking a legal fellow to join our team over to work in our Healthy and Resilient Communities program. The legal fellow may be based in CLFs Massachusetts, Maine, or New Hampshire office. The position is a one-year term with the possibility of a second year.The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal topics, preferably in the area of environmental law. They will be committed to taking initiative, solving problems, and managing a variety of activities in a fast-paced environment. People of color are strongly encouraged to apply.What youll do The Legal Fellow will help develop CLFs work on two key climate change-focused projects: (1) climate adaptation liability and (2) climate change and agriculture, with a focus on regenerative agriculture. The fellow will be responsible for the following tasks:Conduct relevant policy and legal research;Analyze and summarize relevant environmental laws and regulations at the local, state, and federal levels;Maintain a repository of relevant research, and monitor legal, legislative, and regulatory developments in these focus areas;Develop and contribute to presentations, webinars, research reports, and journal articles;Contribute ideas for how CLF should expand our advocacy in these two areas.What youll need A law degree from an ABA-approved law school;Admission to or candidacy for the bar in Massachusetts or another state;Demonstrated experience conducting legal research, preferably in the area of environmental law, but not required.A passion for environmental, public health, and/or social justice work;Commitment to working collaboratively across differences with a diverse group of colleagues and partners;Tracking
