Overview

Qualifications:

  • LPN/RN: Must be an actively licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois.
  • Preferred: A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Hold an active & current LPN license in the State of Illinois Must be comfortable working with individuals who are COVID-19 positive.
  • Must be comfortable donning PPE and wearing it for the entire workday.
  • Experience working in an ambulatory care setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn Epic EHR preferred.
  • Higher education experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Contingent staff to administer the vaccinations, enter information in EPIC, and monitor individuals for adverse reactions to the vaccine.

Summary:

  • A Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation by following established standards and practices.
  • Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care.
  • Functions as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Responsibilities include activities related to administering COVID-19 vaccines to the UChicago community. PPE will be provided.
  • May be responsible for entering patient medical information into the electronic medical records.
  • May be assigned other duties within the University of Chicago Student Wellness Center or COVID Testing program.
  • The Licensed Practical Nurse performs a wide variety of nursing care services for patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice nurse, or physician.
  • Such services may include therapeutic or diagnostic procedures and/or administration of medication.
  • LPN – Responsibilities include activities related to administering COVID-19 vaccines to the UChicago community.
  • PPE will be provided.
  • May be responsible for entering patient medical information into the electronic medical records.
  • May be assigned other duties within the University of Chicago Student Wellness Center or COVID Testing program.

Comments/Special Instructions

  • Consideration for full 8 hours shifts for 2 to 3 days a week.
  • Possible weekend hours needed, but will be determined at a later date.
