Overview

Summary of Position: The Director, Facilities and Administration has overall responsibility for the efficiency, cleanliness, and safety of all Teatowns Facilities, Grounds, and Rental Properties. The Facilities and Grounds may be defined as all built structures at Teatown, parking areas, roads, driveways, and paths adjacent to Teatowns buildings. The Director leads and oversees capital improvement projects, coordinating work with both outside vendors and staff. The Director ensures that processes are in place for the timely cleaning and set-up for all programs and events. This position oversees the functioning of the Facilities, Grounds, and Parking staff, ensuring an appropriate level of service to all constituents.This is a full-time salaried position with a regular work-week of Monday Friday, 7 hours a day, with weekend and evening work required on occasion.Principle Duties / Requirements:1.Makes decisions as to the Operating Status of Teatown in adverse weather or other emergency situations.2.Creates and implements long-range Facility Maintenance Plan and linked scheduled maintenance of all the buildings and building systems. Ensures projects are completed in a timely manner.3.Ensures that Teatown is fully compliant and current with any municipal special use permits, building codes, fire safety, and other Emergency Management Plans.4.Works with Facility Manager and Director of Finance to develop a yearly capital improvement plan and budget and to implement plan in a safe and efficient manner. Manage effectively and balance the Facilities budget.5.Works with Director of Education to ensure that facility is cleaned and prepared to host schools and public educational programs.6.Works with Associate Director of Events to ensure that facility is cleaned and prepared to host special events.7.Overall responsibility for tenant management and relationships for our 7 rental units.8.Manages relationship with our IT Management Consultant.9.Ensures Visitor Center, Carriage House, surrounding grounds, and Cliffdale Education and Science Center buildings and grounds are clean and safe for visitors and staff.10.Manages Facilities, Grounds, and Parking Staff to ensure adequate coverage.11.Responsible for obtaining and evaluating bids from outside contractors.12.Undertakes and maintains excellent vendor relationships.13.Fulfills all requirements of insurance carrier as to a) obtaining proof of insurance and workers compensation from all sub-contractors, b) obtaining Department of Motor Vehicle records on all Teatown staff, and c) obtaining third-party insurance certificates from all Carriage House or other facilities renters.Position Requirements / Qualifications:1.Minimum Bachelors degree plus minimum 15 years relevant experience.2.Experience in multi-use facilities management and supervision of staff.3.Experience with renewable energy systems strongly preferred.4.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.5.Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.6.Computer literate.7.Positive, solution-oriented approach and ability to work well with people.Tracking
