POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Follow sound systems engineering and project management principles and processes (e.g., ISO 9001:2015) to research, design, develop, estimate, schedule, test, troubleshoot and integrate electronic, mechanical, and computer software elements and communications interfaces to meet technical requirements associated with diverse engineering projects. Document engineering designs, analyses, processes, alternatives and choices. Plan, organize and communicate with appropriate SRS supervisors and managers to arrange for access to the required personnel and expertise to ensure that projects proceed expeditiously and efficiently. Responsible for keeping the Government Points of Contact (GPOCs) informed regarding: progress, cost, schedule, and anything that could impact these key project metrics. Additional responsibilities include: generating monthly reports for each project; and providing timely responses to Project Cost Management System (PCMS) tasking and Statements of Work (SOW) with detailed technical work plans, schedules, cost estimates and spend plans. Design for and monitor safety of project execution from the initial development of the technical work plan through customer acceptance and closeout.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited institution. Good verbal, writing and presentation skills especially with regard to technical topics. Strong desire to work and problem-solve in challenging environments both indoors and outdoors. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Must have a valid driver’s license. Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited institution plus 2-3 years of experience working as an engineer in a hands-on environment. Experience designing for safety and ease of installation / use. Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) Test and Evaluation programs and mission support activities. Active DOD security clearance.
