Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems Execution Operations has an opening for a Value Stream Lead at their Portsmouth, RI location. The Value Stream Lead (VSL) is responsible for all production control & manufacturing related activities within the production environment. The successful candidate will report to the Factory Operations Manager (FOM) and be accountable for the daily management and direction of approximately 1-2 cell leads and 10-20 touch labor represented employees in a multi-shift operation. The VSL will be tasked to define production control plans & material flow, establish clear operational schedules, priorities, & goals, and collaborate with functional management/support to allow for continuous manufacturing of sub-assembly and end-item products. Additionally, the VSL will have accountability for production and depot deliveries, supervision of bargaining unit employees, daily direction to salary support, and safety within their area of responsibility. This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending significant amounts of time in and around factory areas. The candidate must be capable and willing to work extended hours (when required) in a fast paced deadline driven environment. The ideal candidate will possess the demonstrated skills and experience necessary to perform in both manufacturing and planning leadership roles. The Value Stream Lead is responsible for, but not limited to the following: * Fosters collaboration and communication with direct reports, functional management/support, program partners. * Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts with a proven track record of lean or six sigma project implementation * Overall knowledge of manufacturing principles, support team roles and responsibilities, and manufacturing & planning systems. * Facilitates cross-training across their team. * Perform a wide variety of sequencing, planning, scheduling, coordinating and reporting tasks in support of the manufacturing workflow. * Compiling labor forecasts and Estimates at Compete (EACs) for the support and touch employees * Strategic Planning * Define Priorities, Goals and Manage Quality, Schedule and Unit Hours (UH) performance * Prioritizes project issues and assists in the resolutions process to meet productivity, quality, and organizational goals and contractual delivery requirements * Interact with support engineering, supply chain, and quality with respect to project schedules. * Provide the required resources (facilities, processes, equipment, training, etc.) to ensure all employees work in a safe working environment * Provide communications as directed or required by higher level management to ensure employees are aware of pertinent organizational or customer information. * Ensure compliance to all pertinent operating procedures and work instructions This position can be Salary Grade G09 or Salary Grade G10 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position. Required Experience: 6 years of experience in one of the following areas: Shop Floor Management, Electromechanical Manufacturing Experience, Production Control & Planning, Manufacturing Support Function or Team Facilitation. U.S. Citizenship is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance with 1 year of start date . Desirable Attributes: Understanding of sequencing for fabrication, assembly, installation, testing and other manufacturing operations relation to specific portion of the product(s). Experience in manufacturing line balancing Labor management Knowledge of existing Raytheon execution systems (PRISM, VM, SAP) Knowledge of Quality practices and instructions Superior communication skills Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma continuous improvement tools & application.
