You’ll find that as the Medical Receptionist, you are the director of first impressions due to your duties providing customer service over the phone and in-person. Key responsibilities – Ensuring the waiting and reception areas are kept neat and clean; reporting on any damage – Greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries – Making appointments, collecting co-pays, and providing receipt of money in accordance with established procedures – Helping patients with paperwork – Highly-responsive to telephone calls in a detail-oriented and effective manner within minimum rings – Acting as a liaison with patients and providers in a compassionate and kind manner – Helping out in the management of patient medical records – Responsible for insurance verifications with health insurance organizations – Managing various files and providing general office duties, e.g. data entry, scanning, faxing, etc.Requirements- 1+ year of experience as a Medical Receptionist- Comprehension of medical terminology and insurance products- Proficiency in customer service- Demonstrated knowledge of Insurance Verifications- Medical records experience desired- Patient Check-in experience- Patient Scheduling experience highly desired- Adeptness in HIPAA compliance patient privacy rules- Command of medical records- Proficiency with multi-line phone systems required – You can succeed in this position if you have experience with insurance billing and an electronic medical record system, as well as social media platforms- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines- High School Diploma required, A.S.
