The Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence St. Joseph Health is a small but mighty product development and incubation team that is building next-gen tools that give patients convenient and easy access to healthcare virtually anywhere, anytime.

We are seeking a Senior Director of Product Development to our location in Seattle, WA.

Our various teams gather market data on effective solutions in the healthcare space and then proceed to build out a product line with the latest and greatest technology available. When market maturity hits, DIG enables the product vertical to spin out into its own company. It is an unique mix of venture capitalists, digital strategists, marketing acumen, product development and engineering all meshed into one group nestled inside a large healthcare company. We are here to set the pace for other healthcare organizations around the country on how to conceive, engineer and launch effective healthcare solutions.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

Build and maintain relationships with a large network of technical and non-technical stakeholders in the organization, bringing your curiosity and intelligence to understand their world, and identify hard problems appropriate for digital solutions
Manage the Product Management team members in an inspirational manner that ensures their success. Comprehensive performance management of the team including hiring, training, active coaching and setting aggressive and realistic objectives.
Work closely with engineering leadership to engage, motivate, and lead the team towards successful product delivery. Work closely with engineering across the product lifecycle to document the user journeys in collaboration with the Product Management and Design team, evaluate alternative product and technical solutions to build and operate the platform. Ensure engineering team is delivering fixes and features that are prioritized by the Product team. In partnership with Engineering, you provide combined leadership in pushing and maintaining agile development best practices.
Manage planning, prioritization, specification, acceptance and education processes for all products and product features. Develop, present and defend the business case and product feature set for new project proposals.
Partner with Technical Program Management, Design, and engineering leadership to identify opportunities and quantify the business case for new projects. Working with multiple stakeholders, prioritize product initiatives focused on growth, usage, and revenue.
Understand and translate market requirements with substantiated customer/market feedback to support the product definition plus internal alignment on engineering team capabilities.
Drive experimentation (i.e. A/B testing): identify areas for improvements, define methodology and technical requirements and drive experiments to optimize testing platform.
Evaluate complementary internal and 3rd party products for existing market fit, investment required, opportunity cost, and potential revenue stream to determine priority within existing roadmap.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

Bachelor’s Degree
15 years of experience of relevant industry experience (product/program management, product planning/strategy), shipping consumer facing and/or enterprise software & have delivered solutions end-to-end.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

Master’s Degree
