Providence is calling a Clinical Educator – Cardiovascular Lab & Interventional Radiology ( 0.8 FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Nursing Education Department at Providence Health & Services in Everett, WA. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible to all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
This is an exempt position with benefits (32 hours/week).
The clinical educator is a registered nurse with expertise in education who influences professional role, competence and professional growth of nurses in a variety of settings. The clinical educator serves as an educator, change agent, facilitator, consultant and researcher. The Clinical Educator supports the development of bedside nurses and fosters empowerment through knowledge and skills to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidence-based nursing practice.
In this position you will:
Demonstrate application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PRMCE age specific care competency assessment tool
Maintain educational standards based on knowledge of regulatory requirements
Reflect on self-assessment of learning needs and augments professional practice through research
Utilize a variety of resources to assess, plan, implement and evaluate learning needs: electronic, individual, managerial and committee feedback
Prioritize multiple demands to identify critical educational issues, including when an issue is not educational
Coordinate the process that ensures patient’s/family’s comfort and concern surrounding issues of death and dying are met
Develop, plans and implements educational activities consistent with the organization’s mission, vision and goals
Participate in the creation of individual, unit specific, house wide and /or system level educational programs
Serve on house wide committees to represent the educational needs of all staff
Conduct Needs Assessment to determine learning needs
Develop staff to teach and mentor on selected topics
Promote an environment that recognizes and supports the unique contribution of staff
Promote partnerships between service and academia to support Nursing Education
Integrate adult learning principles and learning styles into educational offerings
Develop appropriate education for individuals or groups in consideration of diverse needs of learners.
Maintain full knowledge of HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Master’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent education and experience (or actively enrolled in program, projected completion 18 months from date of hire)
3 years related clinical experience in area of specialty
Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Washington
Adult Education – course development
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Certification in nursing core specialty preferred
Formal educator experience strongly preferred
Experience in Cath Lab OR experience in a procedural area where conscious sedation is performed highly preferred
Leadership experience
