Position Description:

PIMCO is hiring for a Head of HR Technology. If hired, you will be responsible for building and leading the HR Technology team and be a key player in our HR transformation into a shared services model which includes leading the implementation of Workday HCM from PeopleSoft. You will manage sophisticated HR technology operational activities and projects, as well as being a business owner in all HR technology systems as well. To be successful in this role you will have a keen focus on optimization of technology and process improvement, attention to detail in analytic and technology process variance, as well as, a creative mentality for taking advantage of unique opportunities in their area as they arise. You will partner with various functional areas to provide HR system delivery, administration and support. This position may be located in Newport Beach, CA or Austin, TX.


  • Create a strategy surrounding the HR Technology platforms in order to optimize their use toward the strategic goals of HR and the broader business.
  • Provide leadership to a team of HR Technology professionals.
  • Oversee implementation of the HCM solution (Workday)
  • Lead the administration Cornerstone, Saba, Halogen, Avature, eTime, Visier, Workday and other HR technologies
  • Help prioritize HR roadmap based on complexity and business value
  • Set product strategy for HR technology landscape (i.e. maintenance, support and operational roadmap).
  • Set direction for end-user troubleshooting, issue remediation, technology request assistance and escalation management.
  • Create strong business partnerships with Human Resource teams and deliver a high level of delivery execution and consultation.
  • Gather platform requirements by engaging broadly with business users to understand opportunities and pain points; analyze platform metrics; collect feedback

  • Ensure the timely and accurate development and delivery of data and reporting to support the business needs.
  • Monitor reoccurring issues, system/data or process gaps and proactively identify potential sources of increased efficiency and enhancements.
  • Set security strategy and ensures accurate security role permissions are maintained.
  • Stay informed of current data and system requirements and ensures compliance.
  • Utilize best practice methodologies (i.e. Project Management and Software Development Lifecycle).

Position Requirements:

  • 7+ years of management experience over HR Technology platforms.
  • Strong experience with Workday HCM
  • Experience leading implementation from PeopleSoft to Workday HCM preferred
  • Experience managing mid-to-large scale implementations and enhancements.
  • Experience managing teams or complex global projects
  • Deep HR technology expertise in multiple systems
  • Ability to build and lead a high performing team
  • Superb communication and collaboration skills
  • The ability to contribute individually and in a leadership capacity to the technical and managerial challenges associated with maintenance and optimization of our HR technology platforms.
