Job Summary:We are busy personal injury law firm, located in Friendswood, Texas, in need of a reliable and proactive Paralegal. The Paralegal will work directly with our attorneys to prepare for upcoming cases, get involved in fact-finding projects and be responsible for developing and maintaining an index system for all case files. Our case load is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is organized, professional, responsible, and committed to helping us meet all of our clients needs.Experience/RequirementsPrior experience in or working knowledge of personal injury law is preferred.Must have some prior law firm or legal knowledge except for law students.Associates degree in Paralegal studies or a bachelors degree in a related field (Preferred)Bilingual is a plusResponsibilities:Should possess a thorough knowledge of word processing and spreadsheetsCustomer service orientation communication skillsAccurate, attentive and expansive handling sensitive or confidential informationCase management skills including a strong aptitude for managing and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.Strong understanding of litigation terms.Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.Order medical records from appropriate companiesAssist in the writing of stower demandsSupport our attorneys by maintaining, drafting documents and affidavits, organizing files and e-filing, calling on legal witnesses and maintaining a legal librarySummarize depositions, interrogatories and testimony.Conduct legal research.Interpersonal SkillsA significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience.
