Outreach is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Consultant Psychiatrist to work at our Outreach program located in Ridgewood NY. The Psychiatrist will responsible for the ongoing evaluation, treatment and supervision of patients. Available 15 hours/week , 2 full days

What You Will Do:

  • Provide psychiatric evaluations on new admissions, and the ongoing evaluation, treatment and supervision of patients.
  • Appropriately prescribes and monitors all resident medications.
  • As appropriate, review and/or consult on psychiatric evaluations performed by other treating psychiatrists assisting at the residential facilities.
  • Appropriately interact with staff and communicates information related to the diagnosis and care of residents including the effects of any medication on client functioning participates in case conferences as appropriate.
  • Document all activities on agency forms and/or where applicable, the agency’s electronic health record, including treatment plan review.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance health services through outside affiliations that can benefit residents in care.
  • Provide on call assistance regarding consultations related to client care.
  • Participate in Dr. to Dr. Reviews with MMC and/or other insurance providers, as required.
  • Utilize and/or ensure appropriate use of the I-Stop Look up.
  • Assist in developing linkages and in obtaining resources to address client medical/health needs.

Who You Are:

  • Must be a physician licensed and currently registered as such by the New York State Education Department
  • Must have at least one year of education, training, and/or experience in alcoholism, substance abuse or chemical dependence services.
  • Must be board certified and certified in addiction medicine as well as training and/or certification in Medication Assisted Therapies.
  • Available 15 hours/week , 2 full days
