Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager of Industrial Enginering 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA. The selected candidate will manage a program or a function within the larger organizational unit, setting and operating to objectives and providing guidance to subordinates based on goals, objectives and company policy.
Manages projects and activities of the F/A-18 assembly industrial engineering team. Implements methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials by restructuring job flows, possibly relocating workstations and equipment for improved efficiency, and recommending purchase of equipment/tools as necessary. Implements methods improvement based on world class technologies and industrial engineering principles to improve operations performance and reduce waste, delays and other cost issues. Communicates & presents to management on all changes in work standards/flows and projects implemented. Leads and independently develops models, data bases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to customers (e.g., management, departments, suppliers).
Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations. Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods. May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.

Bachelors degree with 8 years experience or Masters degree with 6 Years experience or a PhD. with 3 years experience in Leadership, Industrial Enginering and/or Production support.
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance as required by the business.
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related STEM field
Industrial Engineering experience
Aerospace Systems Industry Experience
5 or more years of documented experience working in a robust IPT environment
4 years of demonstrated experience leading teams and projects
Strong expertise using the full suite of Microsoft Office Tools including Excel with Pivot tables and Macros
SAP/MES Expertise, Tableau experience
