Northrop Grumman is looking for an Assistant Department Manager (ADM) for the Radio Frequency (RF) and Mixed Signal Products Department in Electronics, Payloads and Technology COE at our Manhattan Beach, CA location. The RF and Mixed Signal Department (RFMS) is an organization of 160 plus engineers and technicians that develops RF and Mixed Signal electronics/subsystems, RF processors, MMIC components, passive RF components, custom IC and A/D designs and CMOS SoC for a variety of space and air programs. The ADM will assist the RFMS department manager in overall, day to day operations of the organization as well as manage a section of ~15 senior engineers. The successful candidate will possess the following: – Specific knowledge related to RF and Mixed Signal component and unit design, analysis techniques and tools, and test/verification methods as well as general knowledge related to current state-of-the-art, system trades, and cost considerations/factors for RF and Mixed Signal electronics. – Project management skills for all phases of RF and Mixed signal product development and sell-off, from proposal and initial cost estimating, requirements derivation, design, fabrication, assembly, to verification and final delivery. – Good technical writing skills, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are needed. – People Leadership and Management experience – Proposal development and support Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: – Supporting the recruitment of new talent and retention of current talent in the department in order to satisfy program staffing demands – Managing the performance review process, hold regular meetings, and keep senior section members informed of company developments. (~15 members) – Attend key program reviews that involve RF and Mixed Signal products – Actively work with section members on development activities – Support the department manager in the development and execution of engagement-related activities – Contribute to process and infrastructure improvements and enforcement (e.g. design methodology, simulation tools, development of best design practices, capital projects, design review preparation, etc).

Basic Qualifications: – A Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline from an accredited institution – 7 years of experience in developing RF and Mixed Signal electronics for military or spacecraft applications – Previous experience managing engineers and technicians in a process driven environment – Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances: Dept of Defense Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 6 years OR SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years
