Among these, we offer more than 195 multi-discipline majors and degrees designed to prepare students for purposeful lives and careers.About the Opportunity:The Center on Crime and Community Resilience (CCR) at Northeastern University seeks a Project Coordinator to support the Center’s violence reduction efforts in Baltimore, Maryland.The Project Coordinator will work with the Center’s Baltimore Director in managing all aspects of CCR’s ongoing violence reduction efforts in Baltimore, MD. This will include working closely with government and community partners, including: The Mayor’s Office, Baltimore Police Department, the State’s Attorney’s Office, the US Attorney’s Office, and social service providers such as Roca Baltimore. The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Baltimore Director to ensure all work being done in Baltimore is delivered in a focused, balanced and fair manner.This is a full-time position based in Baltimore and is eligible for Northeastern benefits, and will report to the CCR’s Baltimore City Director. This is a term-limited position funded by grant support and will last for three years, until September 30, 2023, with a possibility of extension.Responsibilities:As part of the larger Baltimore team, the Project Coordinator will manage the on-the-ground aspects of planning, implementation, and process evaluation for Baltimore-based projects. Project activities include: Project planning to develop violence reduction strategies, including management of the day-to-day needs of problem analyses and reviews of existing neighborhood and group violence, designing governance structures to fit major project needs, and coordinating between researchers and government partners to advise on project implementation. Engaging in technical assistance along with research and expert partners to Baltimore projects, including coordinating service providers to direct resources to the individuals and groups most embroiled in violence and monitoring the implementation of violence reduction strategies. Assisting in institutionalizing new violence reduction strategies by providing on-the-ground support for mixed method process and impact evaluations, including data management and reporting.The Project Coordinator’s role will be largely focused on project implementation, but they will also support the Baltimore site director in any tasks needed to ensure the project needs run smoothly, which could include scheduling, logistics, programmatic reporting, and other administrative tasks.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree with significant coursework in economics, public policy, public affairs, or similar fields with demonstrated knowledge and background related to urban public policy, preferably with some related to crime and violence.2-3 years of experience working with government and non-profit organizations on projects related to urban public policy, preferably with some experience related to crime and violence prevention. Strong professional written and verbal proficiency in English and an ability to understand and work with data at an intermediary level.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with city employees, community groups and/or police departments is preferred.
