The RN will perform nursing duties in the care of ill or injured residents and perform nursing assessments. Administer medication and treatment. Supervise licensed practical nurse and sub-professional staff in executing physicians’ orders and proper nursing procedures. Supervise the administration of medication. Administer injections. Respond to facility emergency codes. Investigate and report on unusual incidents involving resident care. Report residents’ abnormal physical and mental reactions to the physician. Make medical nursing rounds. Interact with residents and families and explain treatment. Complete nursing assessment / progress notes. Prepare nursing reports on residents consistent with policies and procedures. Conduct formalized training sessions for professional and non-professional personnel. Attend in-service training programs and participate in drills for and respond to facility emergencies. Take appropriate action if abuse or neglect (by staff, visitors, family or peers) occurs, to include protecting and supporting the resident, reporting and documenting the incident. Adhere to responsibility outlined in off-campus trips.

Associate or Bachelor degree in Nursing
Registered Nurse license issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing or a state Nursing Board in the Compact State Agreement.
Valid driver’s license, reliable operating transportation and proof of current auto insurance
Ability to meet criminal background and drug screening standards
