As an Associate Director you will have technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, coordinating, and executing assignments in their Facade & Building Enclosures Group. Reporting to a Director-in-Charge, this person will manage challenging major singular projects, or multiple projects, requiring supervision of several staff and client relationships. You must maintain professional relationships and involvement (associations, committees, etc.) in their field of technical expertise. You also need to have a passion for leading and developing the next generation of engineers with a key part of this role being the continued growth of the division.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) or a Master of Engineering degree in Architectural, Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Fire Engineering, or Engineering Science.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience.
  • Professional licensure, and ability to obtain New Zealand licensure if not locally registered.
  • Understanding of the New Zealand Building Code.
  • Qualification and technical expertise in Building Envelope Design and Construction.
  • Professional accomplishments, including publications, speaking experience, and professional society activities.
  • Excellent and diverse technical and professional capabilities and commitment to growth.
  • Strong computational and computer skills.
  • Extensive experience in building design and/or construction and investigating building problems, which may include difficulties related to concrete, curtain walls, glazing, masonry, roofing sealants, waterproofing, wood, windows, and thermal/condensation issues.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolds, and work at heights.
  • Ability to travel to remote job sites not accessible by public transportation, and if applicable, a valid driver’s license.
