The purpose of this position is to direct strategic communication development, support, and oversight for MSU HR in order to effectively communicate important information to key stakeholder groups, in a way that aligns with the University’s mission, initiatives and central communication strategies. This includes, but is not limited to, crisis communication support, communication support for MSU HR executives in order to best represent MSU HR internally and externally to the university, collaboration and support with other campus units and providing communications consulting, and project communication support.

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in English, journalism, public relations, marketing, telecommunications or communications, or a related field; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in news media or media relations or in a field which corresponds to the particular department of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
