Serve in senior role in all vendor relationships including active management of a cultivated portfolio containing hundreds of strategic branded suppliers.
Own processes and develop best practices in alignment with strategic business needs.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Negotiate agreements with vendors to achieve improved financial terms and conditions.
Build collaborative partnerships with strategic vendors, including buy-in and support across all leadership levels internally within Medline, and with the vendor.
Develop, sell, and implement marketing programs designed to sell more profitable products and deliver value and savings to Medline customers and sales reps.
Cultivate relationships and secure distribution partnerships with top gap vendors to round out Medline’s laboratory product offering.
Oversee pricing team and pricing manager to improve all activates related to reviewing and approving price requests, negotiating local vendor contracts, audits and profitability improvements.
Lead department processes, including maintaining SOPs and serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on business requirements within the Vendor Relations and Pricing department.
Plan and attend business reviews with vendors, healthcare industry and trade show events.
Maintain and build cross-functional relationships at all levels within Medline divisions and cross-functional departments to ensure support and develop efficiency for the laboratory Division.
Management Responsibilities Include:
-Day-to-day management of a group of employees
-Making decisions with financial implications
-Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects.
-Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies.
-Provide project management oversight to employees to maintain momentum and completion on key projects.
-Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
Relevant Work Experience:
At least 8 years of experience in laboratory product sales, distribution or product management with 4 years in vendor management experience preferred.
Experience negotiating contracts, pricing, resolving service issues and reconciling differences with external partners/clients.
At least 4 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.
Experience collaborating with internal and external partners to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels.
Position requires travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
