JOB TITLE: FE Loader/Forklift Operator

LOCATION: Tajiguas Landfill

FLSA EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt, Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY: The Forklift Operator will operate an industrial forklift truck to accomplish various materials handling assignments. Operates one or two pieces of equipment including but not limited to front-end loader or forklift to transport loose materials to facilitate handling.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Front End Loader.
  • Lifting and moving
    materials.
  • Operates loader, forklift, or other equipment to move material to designated area.
  • Keeps surrounding work areas clean.
  • Applies understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items.
  • Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads; once delivered, removes strapping and wrapping, then safely disposes of waste materials in designated containers or areas.
  • Unloads, tags, and stacks material in proper rows by raising and lowering lifting device.
  • Dumps containers, bins, and materials.
  • Processing and sorting materials through a production line.
  • Maintain clean and safe area as assigned.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles and other activities as requested.
  • Manages and piles drums, skids, pallets, and other supplies in specified areas.
  • Services equipment as needed, reporting mechanical or electrical difficulties to truck mechanic.
  • Maintains a feeling of pride in work; strives to achieve all goals.
  • Supports the MarBorg Mission.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:

· Experience: Six (6) months of previous work experience.

· Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly.

· Ability to maintain single-task focus and situational awareness.

EDUCATION:

· Education: None required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Position requires excellent verbal and written English communication skills including; ability to read, comprehend, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Basic Spanish communication skills desired.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions
furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and dirty. Required to put on protective outfits, like gloves, safety footwear, and hardhat.
