Overview

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for all payroll-related tasks. The Payroll Specialist’s responsibilities include collecting and reviewing employee information and working hours, calculating wages, preparing, and processing employee payments, and maintaining accurate payroll records. You will be a central point of contact for all inquiries and issues across all LSI locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, commissions, bonuses, incentive pay, as forms of income. Deduction of payroll taxes, garnishments, levies, and insurance to be withheld from time sheets and other records
  • Prepares and enters data into ADP and ADP Time & Attendance files for electronic use, computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records
  • Ensures payroll policies and procedures are kept current and compliant with all legal entities.
  • Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll
  • Records changes affecting net wages such as exemptions and garnishments
  • Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions
  • Keeps records of leave pay and nontaxable wages
  • Administers the pay card program
  • Administrates Attendance policy in ADP
  • Assists with Attendance Policy administration
  • Prepares and Distributes W2’s
  • Balances quarterly and annual taxes
  • Works with the auditors as necessary
  • Completes all unemployment claim paperwork. Files appeals as necessary
  • Administers the employment poster program for all locations
  • Works with outside vendor on employment verifications
  • Is the back up to the Benefits Specialist and Recruiting Specialist
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Accurate and timely processing of payroll; 99% error free
  • Cycle time to resolve payroll errors 24 Hours
  • Accurate and timely submission of all tax and W2 filings; 99% error free
  • Ensure accuracy of tax and payroll tables; 100%
  • Maintain up to date payroll practices binder

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree and/or three to five years hands-on payroll processing experience is required. ADP WorkforceNow and eTime experience preferred. Certified Payroll Professional preferred.
