The Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation (Foundation) is seeking a Legal Program Manager to support and strengthen the mission and work of the Foundation. The Legal Program Manager will lead the Foundations key program to provide critical pro bono legal services to the worlds leading social entrepreneurs. This position is ideal for an individual seeking to be at the intersection of law and social change; someone that is self-motivated, creative, likes a challenge, enjoys managing multiple priorities, and has the skills to engage with a diverse group of stakeholders around the world. Main areas of responsibility include:Pro Bono Legal MatchmakingLead the Foundations pro bono matchmaking program to help eligible social entrepreneur clients to identify, articulate, and prioritize their legal needs and connect them with Lex Mundi member law firm lawyers around the worldIdentify ways to continuously improve the Foundations matchmaking process to make it more efficient and effectiveTrack matches to ensure quality, measure impact, and identify success storiesSupport the Managing Director in developing, strengthening, and managing new and existing relationships:Clients – regular outreach to existing and potential clients to identify new and unique pro bono opportunities as well as ways the Foundation can support their workCollaborators/Partners – help identify new strategic partners to source additional social entrepreneur clients and projects; find ways to bring more value to existing partners and their social entrepreneur fellows/granteesLex Mundi Member Law Firms – regular outreach to member firms to learn about their pro bono programs and priorities as well as to identify ways the Foundation can deliver greater value to Lex Mundi member firmsLex Mundi Ltd – identify and manage areas of possible collaboration and coordination between the Foundation and Lex Mundi Ltd., the Foundations parent entityOther – help identify and develop relationships with other partners and resources also working at the intersection of law and social changeGeneral Foundation Administration / SupportSupport the Managing Director to strengthen overall organization and mission; assist with strategic planning, implementation, and administrationIncrease the Foundations visibility in relevant stakeholder communitiesIdentify, track and report success metrics and impactMonitor media for relevant news items, events, etc.Support Foundations social media program Assist with Foundations marketing and communications efforts, including the website, annual Impact Report, and quarterly e-newsletterThought LeadershipUtilize the Foundations unique position and relationships in legal and social entrepreneurship communities to identify opportunities to write and present on topics relevant to the Foundations expertise and workAttend relevant conferences and legal trainingsFacilitate webinars and learning sessions on important legal topics Identify and organize relevant resources to share with the global social entrepreneurship community via the LawForChange Global Resource Center on the Foundations websitePosition QualificationsStrong academic record; J.D. with at least 2-3 years commercial legal practice experience (transactional work with nonprofits and/or entrepreneurs preferable)Superior communication skills (oral, written, and interpersonal); confident public speakerDemonstrated ability to work independently, to be proactive, and to take initiative; highly motivated self-starterProven project management skills and ability to execute; ability to handle a variety of projects and assignments simultaneouslyStrong organizational skills and attention to detailProven capacity to bring new, creative, and innovative ideas to workAbility to work with a broad and diverse constituency of lawyers and social entrepreneurs from around the worldExcellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce and/or HubSpot a plusExperience with CMS maintenance and social media outreach a plusDemonstrable interest in, and passion for positive social change and the pro bono sectorMust be authorized to work in the United StatesMust be available to travel domestically and/or internationally on occasion(when safe)Please note, we do not practice law at the Foundation. We provide legal mentoring and strategy guidance in order to help clients identify, articulate, and prioritize their legal needs and assure they are thoughtful consumers of pro bono services provided by our member firms.The Foundations priority is to identify the best fit for the position.
