These capabilities have enabled us to become one of the premier East Coast law firms dealing with domestic and international tax defense.Position OverviewThe Legal Assistant/ Paralegal/ Office Manager plays a vital role for the smooth-running of our law firm and assisting with the day to day operations, communications, digital management, exceptional customer service, project management and policies The ideal candidate is able to juggle competing priorities, builds and strengthens internal and external relationships, is resourceful, has a good sense of humor, and maintains a pleasant and professional demeanor under pressure. Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and will have two or more years experience as a paralegal, a college degree, a paralegal certificate and a background in tax or finance. Job duties include communicating with clients and the IRS, drafting and finalizing letters, preparing IRS forms and documents (such as Forms 433A, 433B, 4868, FBARs, and voluntary disclosure letters, installment agreements, offers in compromise, etc.), legal and factual research, tax liability and collection analysis and filing tax returns. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for document management and maintaining a client activity and task log.The position reports to the Operations Director and Managing Law PartnerDuties and ResponsibilitiesThis position interacts directly with a broad range of individuals and organizations. A few of the duties include: Maintainsofficeservices by organizingofficeoperations and procedures, controlling correspondence, designing filing systems, reviewing, and approving supply requisitions, and assigning and monitoring clerical functions.Key tasks include:Draft, edit and proofread letters, memos and other documents.Review, analyze client files, data and documents to assist attorneys.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure on many projects in a high-stress environment while exhibiting patience.Knowledge of legal research skills necessary to pull requested documents from various resources.Familiarity with legal technology and computer databases, including MS Office.Extremely strong work ethic and a willingness to learn quickly.Manage communications (phone, email, mail, and social media), draft and send a range of correspondences. This includes responding on the firms behalf as needed to colleagues, clients, partners and others.Manage firm calendar. Proactively manage, strengthen and support key relationships internally with other staff and subcontractors and externally with clients, and others.
