Kelly Scientific is seeking a temp to hire **Microbiology Lab Technician in Topeka, KS!****Shift:** Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.**Compensation:** $15/hourThis individual will screen for genetic conditions not seen in a newborn baby until the baby is in physical or neurological distress. The conditions tested for include, but may not be limited to: Amino Acid disorders (including Phenylketonuria and Maple Syrup Urine Disease), Fatty Acid conditions, Organic Acid conditions, Hemoglobinopathies, Galactosemia, Biotinidase deficiency, Congenital Hypothyroidism, Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, Severe Combined Immunodeficiency, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Lysosomal Storage Disorders and Cystic Fibrosis. This individual will also learn the blood metals screening procedures with ICP**Responsibilities:**+ Must pay extreme attention to details.+ Evaluate and prepare samples for analytical screening.+ Perform and coordinate complex biochemical and immunological analyses to detect infants at risk for genetic disorders.+ Cross train in all instrumentation and methodologies in the Neonatal Chemistry Laboratory. This includes, but is not limited to High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) , Digital Microfluidic Assay (DMF), Electrospray Ionization Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry (ESI-TQD-MS/MSMS), Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS).**Qualification:**+ Bachelor’s in Biology or related field+ **Must have taken 6 credit hours of Biology courses, 6 credit hours of Chemistry courses, and 12 credit hours of a combined total of Biology, Chemistry or Medical Technology.**+ Knowledge of PCR, ELISA, and HPLC preferredInterested in a rewarding position?
