**Laboratory Technician, Newark, CA****Full Time, long term****Pay rate $21/hr****Job Description:**We seek a highly motivated and energetic Lab technician to join our team on a contract basis. You must be willing to learn new techniques quickly and be able to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced and growing start-up environment.You will be a key support member of the Service Department, working closely with staff to perform:+ general laboratory maintenance+ assisting with handling, inventory, storage, and shipping of client tissue samples+ assisting in the organization and maintenance of slide and tissue block inventories+ assisting with image scanning where appropriate based on level of experience**Job Qualification:**+ Prior 1-2 years of laboratory experience in industry or not-for-profit organization+ Experience in basic molecular biology techniques, microscopy and imaging a plus+ Experience working in a CRO or service environment is preferred+ Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail+ Good verbal and written communication skills+ Strong team player and self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage time efficiently**Job requirements:**+ Assists with replenishing/ changing reagents on strainers and processors.+ Assist in ordering lab supplies through various vendors+ Maintains on a daily basis, a neat, clean, well-organized work area including adequate daily working supplies stocked/stored at each bench.+ Experience and demonstrated skills required for proper specimen collection, including labeling, handling, preservation or fixation, processing or preparation, transportation and storage of specimens.+ Sample inventory and maintain logs for slide tracking.**Why Kelly** **®** **?**Kelly® Science & Clinical is your connection to premier scientific and clinical companies looking to hire talented people just like you.
