Kelly Science and Clinical is an immediate opportunity available in northern Kentucky for a Molecular Biologist with expertise in PCR analysis and troubleshooting ! Work hours : Monday – Friday 10:00 pm-6:00 am , with training on day shift Or Saturday, Sunday and Monday – three – day work week 8:00am -8:00 pm Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Life Science, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, or similar analytical science field with at least 2 years of relevant experience;
- Bachelor of Science with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Preference for candidates with experience with PCR instruments, specifically Agena, King Fisher, and Veriti
- Preference for candidates with Robotics experience (mechanical or applications) ? Preference for candidates with previous work with bodily fluids – such as urine, oral fluid, and blood
Competitive Salary and benefits Essential Functions: Oversee the maintenance of all King Fisher Flex extraction instruments, thermal cyclers, and Agena Mass ARRAY instruments •Perform and/or schedule appropriate preventative maintenance (PM), utilizing instrument service contracts and agreements ? Identify and troubleshoot instrument issues, and work in close contact with other supervisors to correct instrument issues, including any issues, calibration failures, parts replacement and repairs, and identifying potential issues developing within each PCR system. •Determine which actions are taken and documented when significant deviations from the laboratory’s established instrument performance are identified ? Maintain an appropriate inventory of reagents, parts, and supplies needed for continuous operation of all PCR instruments ; notify the appropriate person when reagents, parts, or supplies should be ordered •Participate in research and acquisition of new instruments and equipment •Participate in installation and validation for new instruments, as well as participating in development of new processes and methods •Maintain appropriate certifications and records for PCR equipment, including but not limited to centrifuges, manual and automatic pipettes, thermal cyclers, etc. •Schedule appropriate maintenance and certifications as required by CLIA and CAP •Train new and existing employees on proper use and maintenance of instruments and equipment •Review and/or create SOPs and forms when needed •Maintain appropriate records of certifications, repairs, and maintenance for lab instruments and equipment according to CLIA and CAP regulations ?
