RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION (UA-RSCH-IUINA)

The Contract Administrator will provide professional support to the Research Contracting division of the Office of Research Administration by: reviewing, recording and assigning to one of 12 Contract Officers all incoming research contracts and outgoing sub-award agreements; reviewing various legal agreements and contracts under the supervision of Research Contracting leadership; requesting and gathering documentation from departments and external agencies related to research contracting; developing, implementing, and/or coordinating internal contract organization and management systems; and performing general office support tasks, as needed. This position will participate in Kuali Coeus data management.
The Contract Administrator will be the primary point of contact for researchers and departmental administrative staff regarding contract and sub-award intake and will manage the flow of research contract-related documents including correspondence. This position must ensure skillful, sensitive, timely and accurate communications in individual and group contacts with project personnel and professionally represent the project and ORA when speaking with external stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in any field and two years of administrative or para-professional experience.
Knowledge of computer and word processing, database, and spreadsheet software and a demonstrated proficiency and comfort level with technology and software. Strong time management skills with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Ability to expeditiously and accurately review and analyze high volume and detailed information and meet deadlines. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Problem solver with the ability to think creatively and connect various sources to achieve desired result. Detail-oriented and complete work with accuracy and meticulous attention.
Research or grants administration and/or paralegal experience. Paralegal certificate. Experience with contract management and systems. Experience in higher education setting. Knowledge of Kuali Coues. Knowledge of contractual terms and conditions.
Working Conditions / Demands
Must be able to use a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to stay on task to ensure accuracy despite frequent interruptions.
