Human Resources: As human resources officer, manages all aspects of HR operations, including the FAS performance management program and process. Responsible for drafting job descriptions, compensation recommendations, hiring, benefits, training, and employee problem resolution. Regularly coordinates and works with FAS Human Resources and the Union. Develops comprehensive channels for CCB community by forming partnerships with Title IX coordinators, Counseling and Mental Health Services and the FAS Diversity and Inclusion Office. Responsible for working with Executive Director and Department Chair to administratively lead CCB’s Diversity and Inclusion efforts to include: programming, committee staffing, outreach, engagement efforts, networking with other departments, FAS/University offices and local schools. Indirect supervision and responsibility for 25+ faculty Lab Managers/Administrators/Assistants. Partners with the Director and department managers on employee engagement activities and cross-training opportunities. Responsible for assisting staff with training, education and growth opportunities including actively mapping plans for and engaging with staff on professional development goals. Actively partners with faculty and senior management in continually assessing administrative needs and helps create an optimal organizational strategy to meet those needs. Manages HRIS systems interface and problem resolution. (~ 70 exempt/non-exempt employees, plus temporary staff.) Responsible for appointment and salary determinations for staff including exempt, non-exempt, temporary/LHT. Financial interaction and problem resolution with Financial Offices. Direction/supervision of Seminar Events Coordinator for budgetary and organizational aspects of seminar lectureship series and departmental functions. Administration: Departmental office administrative supervision; staff planning including training, replacement of personnel and new FAS/Central Administration policy implementation; daily interaction with faculty, staff, students, researchers, other university and non-university personnel; responsible for the establishment, implementation, review, and resolution involving departmental and other policies. Represents department on relevant FAS and university committees as needed. Partners with Executive Director on special projects.
