# RPM

The Associate Vice President of Instruction in collaboration with the Senior Vice President of Instruction provides overarching leadership and direction to core instructional functions and to the development, delivery, and support of all instructional areas. This position directly supervises and provides guidance to the Center of Academic Engagement, Learning Resource Center, Auditing, eLearning, and Instructional Support Services/Special Projects) in support of GTCCs strategic plan and objectives.

Duties/Functions

Directs and provides administrative oversight for key instructional areas.
Responsible for processes and procedures that ensure the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Center for Academic Engagement ( CAE ) related to programs and services.
Responsible for processes and procedures that ensure the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Library related to programs and services.
Conducts complex analysis of eLearning processes and develops recommendations to further faculty requirements for online teaching.
Coordinates with Director of Instructional Support Services and Special Projects on processes and procedures related to enrollment, student issues, and class schedules.
Provides support to the academic mission and accurate FTE reporting by ensuring efficient operation of Internal Auditing.
Disseminate and implement GTCCs academic mission and goals.
Effectively work with staff and faculty in support of GTCCs critical initiatives as well as day-to-day operations.

Provide leadership in the hiring process of faculty/staff and other assigned personnel.
Provide leadership in the development and evaluation of institutional and assigned area budgeting.
Develop annual budget and planning documents in consultation with the SVPI .
Allocate financial resources to accomplish educational goals within established budget processes.
Formulate, promote, and implement academic policies/procedures to ensure instructional integrity.
Promote and enhance an ethnically and culturally diverse learning environment.
Promote an environment that expects, values, and celebrates continuous improvement.
Evaluates instructional support services on an ongoing basis.

Coordinates with student service leadership and staff on specific initiative and matters of mutual concern.

Serve as the primary contact point in instruction for students who have concerns with college processes (e.g., registration, consortium applications, student complaints, etc.).

Support alternative funding opportunities through effective grant development and attainment.

Represent GTCC and provide leadership to statewide and local community forums that are relevant to the colleges mission.
Promote an environment that expects, values, and celebrates continuous improvement.
Demonstrate and model the Colleges employability skills: adaptability, communication, information processing, problem solving, responsibility and teamwork.

Education Required

Masters degree from a regionally-accredited post-secondary institution.

Education Preferred

Doctoral degree from a regionally-accredited post-secondary institution

Experience Required

Five years of progressive academic administrative experience in a postsecondary institution
Three years of teaching experience in a discipline taught at the college
Experience with faculty/staff supervision including performance evaluation
Experience in budget development and management
Experience effectively handling complex student issues related to instruction and registration
Experience with enrollment management, curriculum development and assessment
Experience with academic support areas, e.g., library and tutoring
Ability to build and maintain a pipeline of high performing leaders
Familiarity with advanced technology & distance learning policies and procedures

Experience Preferred

Greater than five years of progressive academic administrative experience in a postsecondary institution
Greater than three years of teaching experience in a discipline taught at the college
Experience at a multi-campus community college

KSA Required

Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with a team; flexibility/adaptability; ability to work independently; planning and organization skills; computer literacy are must-haves.
The ability to use collaborative leadership skills to develop & implement strategic initiatives.

KSA Preferred Department/Job Specific Requirements

Provides administrative support in the absence of the Vice President of Instruction
Participate in national and state community college and professional organizations to maintain currency in the issues and skills related to student services. Work with college faculty and staff in planning and coordinating special events.
Other duties as assigned by the Senior Vice President of Instruction
