There is also much more to come!JOB OVERVIEWGreen City Growers, or GCG, is growing and is looking to hire an Urban Farm Installation Crew member for Boston and the surrounding area. This position is seasonal full time at about hours per week. This is a perfect position for someone who is motivated by something larger than themselves, someone who loves the outdoors, work as part of a team as well as a self-starter with the ability to see your work through with a high degree of independence and is looking for a great opportunity to grow. This is an exciting opportunity to join a hands-on team in a growing company that is dedicated to helping bring sustainable food production into Boston and beyond.JOB DESCRIPTIONBUILDS-INSTALLS: Assist in builds and installs of all GCG products through manual labor. Work with the team to meet schedule and comply with quality standards. Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe and organized working environmentCUSTOMER SERVICE:Maintain a professional and courteous manner with co-workers, customers and othersSITE & FACILITIES: Help to maintain organize and clean vehicles, shop, and job site.Perform necessary cleanup, upkeep and other tasks when requiredCOMMUNICATIONS:Report all questions, concerns, and pertinent information to manager. Prepare for and document work daily in our online systems, including Google Calendar, Google Forms, T-sheets and Zoho CRM. Provide customer and participant feedback as needed for internal continual improvement processes.IDEAL QUALIFICATIONSHard work ethic, positive attitude, punctual and a high level of professionalism. Ability to take instruction well. Organized with and attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to high quality work.Comfortable working outside in varying weather conditions and noisy/dirty, construction environments. Ability to lift 50 lb. Willingness and ability to perform physically challenging work.Competent in basic hand tool use (saws, shovel, drill, etc.). Construction, and/or landscaping experience. Know how to act responsibly around power tools, heavy equipment and busy job sites. Some administrative experience and comfort with technology/computersStrong time management, communication & organizational abilities, the ability to work in a very fast-paced environmentFlexible schedule some weekend days may be required, occasionally days run longLoose-fitting, professional, seasonally appropriate workwear and composite-toe boots required.A love of the outdoors, building, growing, and urban revitalization!Active Drivers License. Following a conditional offer of employment, GCG requires motor vehicle record checks on all final Urban Farm Instillation Crew candidates. An applicant for employment will not be hired if they do not have a clean driving record.TERMSFull Time Seasonal: ~40 Hours/Week.
