Position: Vice President, Quality and Operations Compliance
Job Description:
Forward Air, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Forward LTL team as Vice President of Quality and Operations Compliance. The VP will be responsible for enhancing our Customer’s shipping experience by maintaining and improving on established quality, security, and loss prevention standards. The VP will assess quality and loss prevention standards within every facet of Forward’s operation to ensure continuous process improvement to keep our business moving forward. The VP will also work to align quality initiatives in conjunction with claims trend analyses. The Vice President, Quality and Operations Compliance reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Forward LTL Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Improve operational efficiencies of new product development processes
- Maintain / enhance established company quality standards
- Maintain / enhance established Security and Loss Prevention standards
- Maintain regulatory TSA compliance standards for moving airfreight shipment
- Review products, processes, and systems to ensure continuous improvement
- Review product handling to ensure quality compliance to established processes
- Review claims risks for commodities moving in the FA network
- Participate in group meetings with operations team
- Participate in individually and in group meetings with our Sales Team and Customers
- Create and maintain standards in accordance with industry standards and customer expectations
- Engage with upper management in setting quality benchmarks
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve productivity and performance while maintaining quality standards
- Investigate and target system improvement through established RCCA process
- Conduct quality audits to ensure compliance to company standards
- Drive cost efficient changes with compromising quality standards
Expectations:
- Plan, design and inspect the quality of our handling and communication processes.
- Implement and inspect quality training programs for dock, office, and city driver teams
- Inspect and ensure compliance to mandated regulatory requirements (TSA, Safety)
- Review data analytics to ensure targeted KPI’s are met
- Ability to work under pressure and problem solve. Change processes as needed to improve productivity and performance
- Communicate effectively with management teams to drive continuous improvement
- Ability to carry out assigned task to their completion and meet deadlines
- Collaborate with teammates to deliver top performance results
Requirements:
- Effective change agent especially related to process improvement and implementation
- Strong data analytical skills for all operational processes
- Strong cultural leadership and team collaboration skills
- Track record of leading, and development of others
- Passionate about continuous improvement
- History of building relationships
- Willingness to travel
- Preferred Sig Sigma Training
