Overview

Field Placement Coordinator – Ferris State University. This position reports directly to the Director of the School of Education and requires the person to work closely with faculty, students and our PK-12 partners in the Big Rapids and Grand Rapids areas. The person is required to find clinical experiences for our students at the appropriate grade levels in diverse settings with diverse populations, as required by the Michigan Department of Education for teacher certification purposes. The person is also required to work with the Michigan Department of Education for reporting requirements. Must be able to develop relationships with administrators and teachers in the PK-12 system, maintain databases, attend statewide meetings, have good time management skills, and be self-starter.

Required: Master’s degree in Education or closely related field. Documented work experience in the K-12 setting; working knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel, other Microsoft office products; demonstrated interpersonal skills; demonstrated organizational skills; excellent human relations skills (ability to work with multiple constituencies), and experience with diverse individuals.
