Title: Release/Service Delivery Engineer

Location: Liberty Corner, NJ

Duration: Full Time

Responsibilities:

  • Managing, planning, and negotiating release activities
  • Maintaining release schedules for every application, service, product and ensuring it aligns with stakeholders
  • Coordinating with different stakeholders for requirements, testing and release calendar of necessary components
  • Ensuring that requirements are clear across dependent project streams with a release
  • Collecting and tracking dependencies of different application releases on other applications/projects
  • Managing deployment, implementation and run books plans
  • Conducting release readiness reviews
  • Leading and coordinating checklist and deployment plan execution
  • Working with release owners to ensure team availability (dev, infra, business, partners) for prod releases and post-prod activities
  • Ensuring that releases operate as per expectations across different QA and Prod environments
  • Ensuring the availability of release notes, technical guides and training for users affected by the release
  • Planning, facilitating, and participating in systems and platform upgrades, service and preventative maintenance activities
  • Liaising with cross functional teams to coordinate test environment and tooling changes
  • Acting as a final gatekeeper for SOX compliance for the release plan as well as communicate and monitor release statuses
  • Encouraging and promoting adoption of CI/CD Pipeline
  • Working with release engineers to comprehend code merges and branch ramifications
  • Managing development of automation tools and scripts necessary for building, integrating, and deploying software releases
  • Improving and streamlining application release process, automating exceptions and reports as needed
  • Creating and implementing an onboarding process for new applications and new projects to the release workflow
  • Ensuring good communication within the project team, including the functional, release, and migration teams
  • Managing conflict and ensuring teams processes and tasks are carried out efficiently

Requirements:

  • Familiar with standard software development concepts, practices, and procedures regarding code management, quality gates, and documentation
  • Detail oriented, flexible with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Must thrive at working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to manage software infrastructure & configurations
  • Experience in coordinating cross-functional work teams up to task completion
  • Experience with setting up and working with CI/CD
  • Knowledge of Application Release Automation (ARA) Tools
  • Experience in test and configuration management tools
  • Expert knowledge of ITIL disciplines
  • Strong customer service, project management and quality control skills
  • Experience with mainframe and Power BI platforms
  • Experience in project management tools
  • 5+ years release coordination experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a similar discipline
