The Strategic Account Manager – Transportation, Mobility Systems, is responsible for account management, growth within existing accounts, and new business development of the CAN Based, Smart Control System (SCS) family of products. The person in this role is responsible for development of a strategic Account Plan outlining new product introduction and sales growth of all TRA SCS products to existing and target accounts. Penetration of target accounts will be critical to achieve maximum sales potential. The Strategic Account Manager Mobility Systems position demands that the individual understands the commercial structure at all accounts, and future platform developments in which SCS power solutions can be designed in to these new platforms. This position requires that the candidate be able to coordinate and/or provide technical assistance to existing and new customers, while working closely with the North American Sales Manager -Transportation, Engineering Department, and Regional Sales Management. In this position the candidate will be expected to prepare reports to management on sales activity, perform annual sales forecasting, gather competitive intelligence, and identify and engage companies for new business opportunities.
Strong understanding of and experience within CAN based systems and technology. Experience in electrical systems for the transportation industry (Work Vehicles, Mining Vehicles, Truck/Bus systems and Emergency Vehicles) is a must. Candidate will demonstrate talent for identifying and winning new business opportunities at transportation OEM’s working with engineering and development teams. In addition, expectation is that candidate is currently or would be active in industry related trade organizations and/or technical groups. Position would not require relocation; a home office work arrangement is acceptable, with an expected 30-40% travel requirement. (Travel requirements are subject to company policy regarding travel during COVID-19.)
Essential Skills & Experience
Candidate must be highly customer focused with strong planning, prospecting, presentation and closing skills. Candidate must have the ability to work both independently and within a team environment. Ideal candidate must be a disciplined self-manager with 5+ years experience in Sales/Business Development in Electrical and Electronic components and systems with emphasis on CAN based devices and systems.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and/or equivalent experience preferred.
