ESCR-Net International Network for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ESCR-Net) is seeking a part-time Administration Assistant.ESCR-Net connects over 280 NGOs, social movements and advocates across more than 75 countries to build a global movement to make human rights and social justice a reality for all. Through ESCR-Net, members exchange information, build solidarity across regions, develop new tools and strategies, and advance collective actions to secure economic and social justice through the human rights framework, with a special focus on economic, social and cultural rights (ESCR). The member-led, collective work of ESCR-Net is guided by core principles of gender and regional balance in leadership and participation, intersectional analysis, and centrality of grassroots groups and social movements.For more information on ESCR-Net, please visit FunctionThe part-time Administration Assistant will be based in our New York Office and will support several areas of operations for ESCR-Nets various areas of work. Reporting to the Institutional Development Director, this position will require exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.ResponsibilitiesSupport for Virtual EventsSupport in the implementation of timelines for events;Work with Program Coordinators to track participant information for each event;Assist with setting up virtual events, including communicating with outside provider as needed;Working with Program Coordinators, support in identifying and securing interpreters from our roster for each event;In the lead up to events, work with participants to assess and address connectivity issues, and to ensure understanding of communications tools;Provide technical assistance and guidance to participants during webinars; andWith the guidance of the Institutional Development Director, handle financial matters related to events, such as processing any relevant invoices/receipts after events.Administrative SupportAnswer general information requests that come to the Secretariat through various means;Conduct research on a range of topics as needed;Support in the preparation of staff meetings and other meetings;Assist in scheduling meetings, calls and events as needed;Order materials and supplies as needed; andProvide office support as needed.Support other tasks and special projects as needed.QualificationsThe ideal candidate has a strong interest in non-profit administration, including a willingness to learn about various areas of operations. The candidate should have a strong commitment to advancing human rights and social justice.Candidates should have the following qualifications (required):Bachelors degree and at least two years of relevant experience, or Associates degree and at least four years of relevant experience;Professional-level fluency in Spanish and English, both spoken and written;Strong knowledge and experience working with online communications tools and platforms;Exceptional attention to detail;Strong organizational and planning skills;Experience providing administrative support in an office environment;Cultural and gender sensitivity;Experience with data entry;Ability to communicate effectively via e-mail, telephone and other forms of communication;Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Google Suite, and willingness to learn other programs and systems as needed;Ability to multi-task and to work independently; andAuthorization to work in the United States.In addition to the qualifications noted above, the following are highly desirable:Experience in organizing international meetings, both from abroad and in situ;Experience training others on online communications platforms and tools;Strong research and writing skills, including experience in copyediting;Experience with budgeting;Proficiency in French and/or Arabic; andExperience in cross-cultural communication.CompensationThe Administration Assistant is a part-time, hourly, temporary position for a one-year term. The hourly rate is $19.25 per hour and the position will start with 24 hours per week. ESCR-Net offers paid time off, among other benefits.Location and hoursThe position will be based at the office of ESCR-Nets Secretariat (near Grand Central Station, New York City).However, at this time, all staff members are working from home until further notice.
