Clinical Director Job Description



Clinical Director will oversee our clinical department, which will include the development and organization of clinic programs and supervising and directing clinical staff.

The primary goal of the Clinical Director is to ensure the smooth running of the clinical department aiming to maximum performance. In order to achieve this goal, the Clinical Director must possess excellent management and mentoring skills. It is essential for the Clinical Director to be an outstanding communicator with the ability to resolve conflicts and issues. The Clinical Director must possess a deep respect for policies and ethics and exhibit a unique ability to inspire those values in others.

Responsibilities

· Devise strategies and plans for the clinical department according to company standards for excellent service and growth

· Plan and oversee all client care and programs

· Recruit employees to ensure department is staffed with qualified personnel

· Assign cases and create schedules for staff

· Coordinate and supervise staff

· Provide staff with constructive feedback and constructive criticism as necessary

· Provide staff with clinical training, opportunities for continuous development, and follow up on the medication audits

· Evaluate performance and discipline staff when necessary

· Monitor compliance to legal guidelines, internal policies and quality standards

· Engage in continual outreach with no less than three (3) different Hospitals, Clinics and social workers monthly documenting outreach efforts in the outreach tracker

· On Call for clinical staff and clients

· Establish and maintain a fair and reasonable on-call system that includes staff in the on-call rotation in addition to the Clinical Director

Requirements

· Proven experience as clinical director or other managerial position

· Experience in clinical supervision and program management

· Excellent knowledge of standards (e.g. ISO) (International Organization for Standards) and regulations for the clinical field

· Proficient in Google Docs

· Excellent communication and people skills

· Exceptional organizational and leadership skills

· Aptitude in resolving issues and conflicts

· Must have a LMFT License

· Master Psychology

· License for working with Interns

· Continued Education and License updated annually

Work Environment & Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, an individual must be able to:

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. AND/OR Walk, bend and twist 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office or workspace to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
