NORRIS COTTON CANCER CENTER, LEBANON NH NCCC is a nationally certified cancer center. We treat over 55,000 patients annually among multiple locations including our Academic Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. We are seeking a RN with extensive experience in cancer and experience managing teams of multi-disciplinary staff. As a Nationally Certified Cancer Center we strive to certify our RN’s in Oncology and support the highest levels of professional development of our staff through tuition reimbursement and professional certification programs for nursing. Position Summary: Plans, leads, coordinates, and facilitates the provision of quality care and services for a defined population of patients in the NCCC in collaboration with the Practice Manager. Responsibilities Plans staffing and adjustments based on patient needs and staff skill mix. Evaluates and manages performance of staff members. Develops, implements, and evaluates unit and organizational policies, procedures, and goals. Encourages, supports, and provides educational opportunities for staff development. Manages the hiring process. Develops departmental operational budgets. Monitors revenues, expenses, and operation expenses, and provides required reports to administration. Ensures the unit facilities and equipment meet standards and monitors utilization of equipment. Develops a plan to ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment of care for patients, visitors, and staff. Ensures adherence to quality and regulatory management directives, including TJC, OSHA, HCAHPS, CORE Measures, etc. Facilitates the procurement of appropriate supplies/equipment and provides for adequate numbers and mix of staff to deliver nursing care. Ensures a safe, effective, and efficient patient care environment. Facilitates and monitors activities related to the delivery of patient care. Develops patient flow processes. Strategizes to improve efficiency and eliminate barriers which impact patient and family centered care. Collaborates with patients, families, and the health care team to support the patient plan of care. Supports education and staff development through participation and support of nursing research, evidence-based practice, education, informatics, quality and patient safety, professional development, Magnet© and shared governance. Provides for professional growth and development of staff. Orients new staff through Office of Professional Nursing or other partnerships. Collaborates with clinical instructors in planning, implementation, and evaluation of students’ clinical experience. Collaborates with the various groups to educate, train, and develop staff. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing with 3 years of clinical experience required. Master’s degree preferred. Demonstrated leadership ability required. Required Licensure/Certification Skills: Registered nurse in the appropriate state of practice. Certification in specialty preferred or within 1 year of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required upon hire and as applicable, higher level per unit certification requirements as stated on the grid attached to the AHA and Life Support Policy.Tracking
