The Spray Supervisor and AMS Specialist is responsible for overseeing the operation of multiple self- propelled sprayers and provides technical support for field equipment.


In this role, you will:

Operate equipment and train employees on the proper and safe use of equipment.
Manage spray crew and prepare daily work schedule.
Complete paperwork and maintain records associated with pesticide applications.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Coordinate with farm manager and agronomist on rates and timing of applications.
Ensure the spray crews accurately execute the chemical application schedule created by agronomists.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
Provide on-farm support for AMS and precision farm equipment.
Be the on-sight specialist for GPS automated guidance on equipped machinery.
Assist with corn, milo, and cover crop planting operations.
Assist as needed during potato harvest.
Take on other tasks and responsibilities, as needed.

Physical Demands

Walking and working outdoors in the elements.
Standing for extended periods of time.
Driving between farm sites.

Expected Hours of Work

Typical, daily farm hours 8 to 10 hours with varying start and end times depending on weather conditions.
Typically, Monday through Friday with weekends as required based on season and weather.
Harvest and planting seasons are busy and may require longer hours and some weekends.

Required Qualifications

The ability to obtain Private Pesticide Applicators License for the state of Texas.

Desired Qualifications

At least two years of farming experience.
At least one year of experience with repairing farm equipment.
Basic math, reading and writing skills.
Good communication skills and are able to work in a team environment.
The ability to use Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
The willingness and ability to learn farm data management systems.
