Boutique business law firm based in El Segundo, California is seeking full-time Litigation Assistant to support the firms complex, commercial litigation practice. Primary job duties include:opening and processing incoming correspondence;calendaring court dates and deadlines contained in correspondence, notices, and court orders;scanning/filing incoming correspondence, court filings, and other litigation-related materials;maintaining electronic and hardcopy case files (with assistance of file clerk);preparing, proofreading, and formatting pleadings, motions/oppositions/replies, discovery and discovery responses, pre-trial and trial documents under attorney supervision;e-filing in state and federal courts (primarily in California);interacting with court clerks and other court staff;working with case documents, including organizing, reviewing, analyzing, summarizing, and categorizing client records and document productions for use by litigation attorneys;analyzing and summarizing deposition and trial transcripts and discovery responses;conducting online and other factual research and investigation;communicating with clients; andbackup answering office phones.Candidate should be dependable, hard-working, focused, detail-oriented, self-motivated, highly organized, and personable. Candidate should be computer-savvy and well-versed with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat, and preferably have experience working with cloud-based Office365. The ideal candidate should be able to work both independently and within a team atmosphere and looking to take on new responsibilities and grow with the firm. The ideal candidate should have minimum 7 years worth of experience as a litigation assistant, preferably in a broad range of litigation matters, including commercial litigation, real estate litigation, and employment litigation. Firm prefers that candidate live within a reasonable commuting distance from the firms recently renovated, modern office building. Salary is in $70,000 to $95,000 range depending upon experience and other considerations.
