This role is Work at Home, Anywhere in the USThe ASHP/AMCP-accredited residency program in Cigna’s Government Business Segment Pharmacy Department focuses on developing the skills needed to assume a pharmacy leadership role within a Managed Care Organization (MCO). As an accredited program, Cigna participates in the ASHP Match process. The Pharmacy Resident matched to the health plan will gain a clinical and operational perspective of the roles and responsibilities of healthcare professionals within a managed care organization. The goal of the one year residency is to provide a resident with learning experiences that enhance his/her problem solving skills, advance proficiency in multiple managed care pharmacy principles, and accelerate leadership skills. Responsibilities:Activities to gain knowledge of Pharmacy benefit management (PBM) services, including claims processing, pharmacy networks and rebate management, in partnership with Cigna’s PBM, Express ScriptsComplete activities focused on Medicare Part D formulary development and maintenanceComplete an utilization management policy as well as coverage reviewsAnalyze pharmacy claim trends and outcomesDevelop pharmacy quality improvement initiatives, including programs to improve Medicare Star RatingsComplete activities focused on Medication Therapy Management (MTM) program development and oversightComplete comprehensive medication reviewsParticipate in interdisciplinary care team roundsDevelop a research project to be presented at regional and national conferencesServe as an APPE student preceptorComplete a teaching certification programQualifications: Pharm.D. degree from an ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacyEligible for licensure as a pharmacist within first 90 days in the state the resident will live in during the residency yearAbility to work at home with less than 10% travelApplicants must be registered for the ASHP Residency Match Program ()Basic knowledge of Microsoft office, specifically Microsoft excel and powerpointWritten/verbal proficiencyThis position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.About CignaCigna Corporation (NYSE: CI) is a global health service company dedicated to improving the health, well-being and peace of mind of those we serve.
