This position reports to the Litigation Management Unit (LMU) Counsel Manager as part of Claims Vendor Management and is responsible for legal vendor management providing centralized analytical, systems, and operational analysis and support required to manage Chubbs legal counsel relationships as well as LMU workflows and dedicated database platforms. The position will work in cooperation with business stakeholders and internal support partners to provide best in class legal counsel and resources to Chubb and Chubb insureds. This position will be located in Simsbury, CT.

Primary Job Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions

Support the LMU Counsel Manager in all litigation management matters.
Coordinate on-going analysis of legal counsel usage, service quality, and cost effectiveness.
Assist Counsel Manager and conduct performance management and rate negotiation discussions with outside counsel.
Review, assess, and confirm established rates and terms with law firms as well as communicate the same to internal and external customers as appropriate.
Provide analytical support for developing, finalizing and maintaining legal counsel service and rate agreements.
Provide guidance, training, and support to Claims staff and internal customers regarding legal counsel fee arrangements and historical billing trends.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve the service quality and reduce the cost of Chubb claim related legal counsel retentions.
Assist in developing, analyzing, and reporting on:
Legal market trending as well as strategies on counsel engagement;
Key legal counsel performance metrics including establishing and managing reporting metrics and scorecarding to track counsel performance and identify areas for improvement;
Litigation cost management audit production and results. Provide oversight and second-level customer support for legal counsel related inquiries.
Partner with internal business customers to achieve common goals.
Project manage legal counsel related initiatives.
Effectively communicate with Chubb internal and external business partners at various levels.
Understand customer needs, analyze and resolve problems effectively, adjust work style to meet customer requirements.
Service and maintain LMU workflows and dedicated database platforms.
Maintain a courteous and professional manner at all times.
Perform any and all duties as assigned related to the goals of the Litigation Management Unit and Chubb.Tracking
