Graduate Assistant, Master of Business AdministrationCarroll UniversityReports to:Professor of Applied Business AnalyticsClassification: 12 Months-1508 Annual Hours-29 hours per week Description: The Graduate Assistant, Master of Business Administration will focus on the intersection of analytic research in business and human performance data. Particular emphasis will focus on statistical design and analysis along with data visualization techniques and spatial analysis. The Graduate Assistant will collaborate with faculty from business and human performance to develop specific questions in these areas. This is a two-year position with the expectation of successful graduation from Carroll University with a Master’s Degree. Responsibilities:1.The use of human performance monitoring data (from tracking devices) to analyze spatial paths and patterns of users2.The relationship of exercise routes (common running and biking paths) and home values (using MLS data)3.The development of spatial marketing profiles to enhance businesses that service clients who live active lifestyles.4.Using data from IPUMS () to develop models of how people integrate exercise into their day using data from the American Time Use Survey (ATUS) and IPUMS Health Surveys5.Create data visualization strategies for human performance data such as strength and conditioning testing results6.Other topics that may develop as the GA and faculty discuss further research interests7.Meet regularly with supervising faculty to provide regular updates on progress of their work and research8.Present and author (or co-author) papers regarding project research findings.9.Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the University mission10.Perform other duties and projects as assigned.Qualifications:Education and/or Experience:Bachelor’s degree is required Previous experience in analytic researchProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required; experience with databases is a plusMaintain full time status in an eligible Carroll University graduate program is required Human Relations Skills:Ability to maintain a high level of confidentialityStrong interpersonal and organizational skills; Ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneouslyStrong attention to detailAbility to work independently or in a team environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a fast pace environmentSelf-motivated and detail-oriented; strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities; ability to work independently as well as on a team; flexibilityCustomer service experience is strongly preferred Job #1920-106Please reference job #1920-106 and submit cover letter and resume to .
