Description Position at Orion Advisor Technology The Subject Matter Expert on the Investment Performance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of performance and composite reporting for all accounts maintained by Orion. Work Schedule- 9am-6pm CST or 7-4pm PST
What does this role entail? ADVISOR SUPPORT * Responds to all client questions and issues received by phone, email, chat, in a complete and quick manner* Trains advisors on Orion system technology capabilities available by completing one-on-one sessions* Provides assistance in growing business with client by highlighting additional features which would benefit clients overall package offering PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS * Performs performance analysis of historical data by comparing data from advisors’ prior system to Orion calculations* Troubleshoots discrepancies of historical performance data and works with various internal teams to make corrections as needed* Educates advisors on Orion performance calculations in comparison to other methods used by Orion competitors* Ensures quality of data maintained in system to facilitate complete and accurate reporting PERFORMANCE TESTING AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENT * Maintains test scenarios to cover all areas of performance and composite systems* Performs regression testing to ensure any changes to performance or composite systems do not negatively affect other areas of performance or system in general* Maintains working knowledge of Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) guidelines and industry best practices* Creates and distributes processes and procedures that can be uniformly applied across entire business* Assists with the development and maintenance of accurate performance/composite policies and procedures What knowledge and skills are needed? * Knowledge and understanding of requirements and suggestions associated with current GIPS guidelines* Knowledge and understanding of performance reporting with regards to Time Weighted Return, Dollar Weighted Return and how transaction data will impact reporting of these performance methods* Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement Education and Experience needed: * Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field required* Ability to complete Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) Principles Exam within first 1 year required* Ability to complete Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) Expert Exam within first 2 years required* Minimum of 2 years of experience working at a financial services firm handling data integrity and performance projects in operations preferred* Orion Industry Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment Lastly, we offer Day ONE Benefits, Paid Parental Leave, Sabbatical time, Tuition Reimbursement, Flexibility to WFH, and Access to Financial Planning Technology and Identity Theft Protection!
