Overview

Under
general supervision, provides a wide variety of moderately complex laboratory
testing and technical lab support for a research facility. Requires knowledge of the
processes/procedures in testing, documenting experiments, maintaining
laboratory notebook, analyzing data, and reporting using complex statistical
computer software.

Specifically, we are seeking a highly motivated research technician to help set up and manage the laboratory and conduct projects in a newly renovated laboratory at the Translational Hearing Center in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Creighton University. We study the contribution of inflammation and immune system in development, repair and survival of the auditory neurons. The successful applicant will interface with the principal investigator and lab team members to provide general research support and to help with building experimental setups, running experiments, ordering necessary supplies, managing mouse colonies, and general lab management.

This position is 100% grant funded.

This position will work Monday to Friday; 8am-4:30pm; depending upon research needs position may require working evening, weekend, and holiday.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s
degree in related field of Science required;

2-4 year’s research lab experience

Knowledge, Skills,
Abilities:

Understanding
of research methods, laboratory techniques, and care of laboratory equipment;

Ability to
interpret data, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues;

Proficiency
in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook;
