The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate students, conduct scholarly research, and engage in service. Primary research and teaching responsibilities will be in state and local politics, public policy, and/or public administration. Teaching responsibilities will include lower and upper-level introductory courses in our Political Science curriculum (e.g. Public Policy Making, Intro to American Government, State and Local Politics) as well as upper-level electives and graduate courses in our MPA program (e.g., Public Policy, State and Local Government). The successful candidate would also likely provide new offerings in a specific area of public policy or public administration. Secondary research and teaching interests may include urban politics; municipal government; environmental politics; public management; budgeting; economic development; representative bureaucracy; ethics; diversity, equity, and inclusion in public and non-profit management; anti-essentialism; or other research areas consistent with the needs of the department.
