We seek a faculty member with expertise in Criminal Justice Administration. The position will be a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor, with an expected start date in fall of 2021.ResponsibilitiesTeaching responsibilities will include both undergraduate and graduate courses, day, evening or weekend classes, ground based and online classes. Additional responsibilities include research and service consistent with the mission of the University and the College of Business Administration and Public Policy. Published research in support of the mission is expected and required for tenure and promotion. The appointment will be effective fall semester, 2021. Appointment and start date are subject to the availability of funds. QualificationsRequired Qualifications Applicants must have experience in teaching and working with colleagues from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds. PhD in Public Administration with specialization in Criminal Justice Administration or PhD in Criminal Justice or Criminology, or highly related discipline. ABDs are encouraged to apply, but the degree must be completed prior to appointment. Ability to teach in the undergraduate CJA and PUB programs as well as in the MPA program. A record of or potential for effective teaching and scholarly research and publication in their field. Preferred Qualifications Expertise in the field of criminal justice administration. Ability to teach on theories of crime and criminal justice policy, research methods, and other criminal justice administration courses. Relevant professional experience and the ability to interact effectively with practitioners. Experience in or potential for teaching online courses in all three programs.
