Ideally you live in the Greater Boston area, but this role is remote until the covid crisis ends.

The Company:

Incredible opportunity to come in, at a very high level and own the security function at a booming, profitable SaaS enterprise software company, that has just concluded it’s best month, quarter and year in sales history,

Bivium has closely partnered with our client and their parent for 20 years. We are working directly with the Founder, we have placed the leads of the UI, Server, and Product Management teams. We have also placed most of the engineers in the company..

There is a new CTO, whom we have worked with for 20 years and have placed in prior jobs — > we have a GREAT RELATIONSHIP!

private company, 18 years in business (MIT roots, lots of smart folks)- same investors, 35 ppl, closed more funding in 2019 from private, non-VC investors, huge profits and growth – 2020 even more – even with covid things are booming for them.

2020 has the 3 top sales quarters for the company – EVER – each higher than the last.

Business is absolutely booming – super profitable – bonus plan to be instituted soon.. Everyone still gets equity (usually after 3 months, Board of Directors approve)

The Opportunity:

for 2021 aiming at Fortune 1000 corporate level (i.e Company X uses the product for all projects, not specific project Y, which ends) – for sales into 2021 running straight into Corporate IT Security who want a more comprehensive top down approach to Security.

Salary 170-180kish + bonus in 2021

This role is Director of Information Security – policies and procedures… could work around the technical stuff

Comments from the CTO:

I need to fill a hole in our organization around information security.. Here’s (roughly) what I’m looking for (best case):

  • owns security for the organization
  • includes policies, procedures, compliance
  • technical chops – can actually navigate around and audit a Linux environment
  • SSO/SAML – knows what it is/how it works/how to implement
  • zero-trust – knows what this means and when it makes sense to invoke it
  • company trust model – can work with the senior technical team to articulate and implement
  • presentable – can participate in high level conversations / contract negotiations with large (Fortune 1000) prospects and clients and can, if necessary, participate credibly in board meetings
  • nice to have but not in the least essential: construction industry / technology experience

Basically, we’re pushing hard on enterprise customers and we routinely run into security/trust/policy related discussion. The job is a combination of internal facing and external facing – we’re still a small firm.

If you’re a candidate who has “been there, and done that” when it comes to security within a SaaS or Enterprise software company, and are excited to build this function at the executive level with a super profitable growth company, then this opportunity is worth discussing:
