Position Title : RM CD Sr. Compliance Analyst

What we’re looking for:

The RM Compliance Analyst works under the direction of the VP, RM CD Compliance Officer to oversee Consumer Direct areas of regulatory compliance. This role works in partnership with the lines of business and the VP of OE Governance & Quality Control to help mitigate compliance risk via conducting compliance testing, reviews and other line of business monitoring. Assists with developing and maintaining the compliance program to ensure the Company meets regulatory requirements in all areas. Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to: compliance and mortgage lending. Consults on design and implementation of preventative techniques to lessen risk of non-compliance and legal exposure to the Company. Contributes to the overall strategic plan of the Compliance Department and assists with various projects as required.

What you will do:

  • Stay abreast of all compliance requirements and upcoming changes to maintain efficiency in TRID, ECOA, HMDA, FCRA and other regulations
  • Track and monitor pending legislation preparing clearly written non-technical analysis of various laws and regulations including general synopsis
  • Communicate compliance requirements to the line of business via Policy or other communications
  • Review and approve line of business compliance procedures
  • Complete periodic system validation and perform and/or validate quality control testing of transactions, processes, and controls. This process includes selecting appropriate samples, tracking timely delivery and maintenance of review papers, monitoring testing status, drafting final management reports and updating all applicable documentation as applicable to each test
  • Work with business unit to identify and obtain sample documentation
  • Maintain repository of testing work papers and corrective action plans
  • Discuss and review all potential test findings with RM CD Compliance Management and the Business Unit
  • Work with the Business Unit and track corrective action plan completion; follow-up when necessary
  • Prepare monthly status reports, action plans and timelines, as needed for discussion with the Business
  • Assist with identifying and documenting Consumer Direct-related compliance risk and key controls
  • Perform periodic risk assessments
  • With increasing levels of independence and professional judgment, identify deficiencies and recommend solutions to complex issues
  • Provide support to all areas of the Consumer Direct division with compliance research, documentation, and process flow.
  • Complete any other job-related duties as assigned by management.

What you will need:

  • Minimum five years mortgage industry related experience with an emphasis on risk management compliance
  • Deep understanding of compliance and federal and state consumer laws and regulations, including RESPA/TILA, eSign, BSA, TRID, Dodd Frank, Reg B, Reg C, Reg E, Reg Z, Fair Credit Reporting Act, FACT, Fair Housing Act, SAFE Act, ATR/QM requirements, etc.
  • Knowledge of and ability to review all Consumer Direct lending functions, including, but not limited to, sales, funding, processing, underwriting, and closing
  • An in-depth knowledge of federal and state consumer and non-consumer regulations in order to effectively prepare compliance test scope, parameters, sampling methodology, work papers, risk assessments, and reports.
  • 5+ years mortgage lending operational and or sales experience
  • Demonstrated relationship and collaborations skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze situations, and make sound evidence-based decisions with others
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong PC skills, including the Internet and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Encompass and AllRegs
